- What things or ideas did the grandson value at the start of the story?
- Which of these values changed after the date harvest? Explain.
- Give the quote where the boy's values change (i.e. his epiphany). Explain why he had his epiphany at this point in the story.
On Thursday, you will write an in-class essay on character in "A Handful of Dates". I will explain the format and give the question tomorrow in class. Also, on Friday, you will have a quiz on the terms on the yellow sheets (including epiphany, allusion, and parable).
