Discuss how irony supports theme in Shirley Jackson's short story "The Lottery".
To prepare for this, look over the answers to the question sheet on the story, especially the answers to #7, 8 and 11.
Students should come to class with the quotations they want to use, as this will save them time hunting for the right passage during the class.
